View Full Version : Stupid Rail Bevel Question

I almost feel embarrassed to ask this question, but:
I have been working on making a neon sign of a martini glass. I made the shape using bezier curves and wanted to extrude an 8- sided disk along the curve but everything I tried comes out looking messed up. All curves are combined, and I used the Pictrix "1st Contact" plugin to align the disk to spline. What am I doing wrong?

Are you sure you want to use Rail Bevel for this task? I think Rail Extrude would be what you want. And for that all you need to do is place the polygon to be extruded at the starting point (diamond point) and be sure oriented is check marked.

Oh yeah, I did mean rail bevel, which is what I meant to say. It was just a typo. I have tried this operation using rail extrude a hundred times and still no results, even when I choose default settings with oriented turned on.

Okay, the reason was that i had multiple curves. If I do them one at a time it works. :)

check the point order of your curve and the orientation of your cross-section.
