Is it possible to trace a logo in Illustrator and have the color data be saved with the associated trace? It seems to me that images from Illustrator appear sharper than the same images mapped from PhotoShop. Any suggestions would be great!:D

Thanks,

Casey

erm, you've lost me!

I'm not sure what you mean by 'sharper'.

when importing Illustrator files (must be v8 or below BTW) into
lightwave despite the fact that the colour information is in the
illustrator file, lightwave doesn't load it, just the paths.

but because you have to assign / create surfaces on your model
anyway, you can add the colour there.

IF I load a logo into the background of a viewport and then trace it in Lightwave and then actually map the image I just traced onto the surface of the logo it appears softer than the original graphic. I've noticed that there seems to be a definite difference in the sharpness of images between Illustrator and Photoshop. I appreciate the reply. I was just trying to be lazy and not have map the image back on to the logo once the outline was traced in Illustrator.
