great texturing,!
the surface definitions are a bit off, but otherwise, excellent
the upper part of the main wall is a bit over burnt and maybe a bit too specular,
in the entire image the bump is to strong
a biger AA would fix that i think. i would tone the bump down in any way..

is the water on the street done in lw or was it in the texture map?

wow, nice work !

especially the texturing...

nitpicking: in the top left side of the image i kinda miss depth because of the fact that (I think) that the vertical lines of the most left window alligns/or is too close with the left corner..if you see what I mean?

Compare the size of lampposts to size of the bricks.And,canal is for ducks,not big enough for gondolas(may be OK)

I love how you've textured the wet patch underneath the dripping tap. Overall excellent texturing.

I don't really like the water though but I don't know why.... ah maybe there should be sewage floating around!

Did you model from a photograph?

The water was done in LW, just a simple cube displaced.

Now that I look at it I agree that the bump is too high on the top... I'll do another render and lower it thanks :D

And yes I did model it from a photo. As for the stream being too small for a gondola... you're probably right, but I'm pretty sure that not all of those streams can be traveled by gondola... in any case it's pretty darn close to the photo so you decide ;)

yup, its pretty darn close!
im looking forward to a new render-
i would check out the pillars that hold the sign a bit- they seem like they are flat- It took me a sec to figure out what they are-
maybe thats just me?
any of you other guys had that problem?

anyways- a great job! you captured the ambience perfectly

I just replaced the old with the new... turned down the bump a little and lowered the diffusion on the highlights.

it looks really good- the rock is the only thing sticking out now IMHO-

but thats just details..:)

Its a nice rock, but a bit to detailed and out of pleace for this image-

I love it. A little atmosphere behind the bridge would show more depth of field.
