View Full Version : Advice on rotating UVs while mapping?

I'm having a rough time getting a map rotated properly on my object. I have Snap set to None, but it feels as though the UVs I'm rotating in UV view, over my map, ARE snapping as I rotate!

could there be some limitation of display and viewing size that relates to how smoothly the UVs can be rotated or moved?

This is annoying as hell. LW really could use some smarter tools for precise rotating and other transform operations.
Lightwaves snap2grid options are a complete joke aswell...
The numericpanel can help to get exact rotations, but...that option don't work in the UV window anyway.
Perhaps Lightwave 9 or 10 will have some improvements in these areas...

Use Texture Guide or Texture Guide 2 and adjust the rotation with the mini-sliders. Beautifully smooth!

Always use the texture guide & numeric panel... uv mapping is a bag of arse to set up properly unless you use it.
