View Full Version : Rigging job offer

Anyone interested in making some extra cash?

I've been working on a character for almost 6 months now on the rigging setup alone. I've read some good books like Tim Albee's, Dan Ablan's and the LW manual. I also got ACS4. It works well for average sized characters. However, my character is very muscular and the shoulder deformations are terrible. I've tried muscle bones but that doesnt prevent all the distortions.

I used the soldier rig from ACS4 b/c its a 2 handed rig. (He uses a sword). The rig works well except for handling deformatons at the shoulder and triceps/biceps. This can be seen especially when rotating the arm posteriorly such as in a run cycle.

I'd like someone to rig him successfully, preferably with ACS4, and explain to me the hows and whys.

We can agree on a price and I will cut you a check.

I'm just so tired of this not working out. I've got to get beyond this or I'll shoot my computer.

Any takers?

Hello drfoley::)

Have you tryed to use a rigging plug-in?

SimpleRigger (http://www.animationsnippets.com/plugins/simplerigger/)

The Setup Machine (http://www.tsmlw.com/downloads.html#tutorials)
Tutorial Video (http://www.tsmlw.com/movies/TSMLW_Quickstart-Biped.mov)

Auto Ccaracter Setup (http://acs.polas.net/acs/)

Thomas4D Rigging Tools (http://www.thomas4d.com/html/rigging_tools.html)

I have Thomas4D Rigging Tools and it looks quite good.
And I also have DAZ Mimic pro for LightWAVE (http://secure.daz3d.com/shop.php?op=itemdetails&item=1993) and I like it a lot.

Hope that this helps:)

Yes, actually what your seeing is Auto Character Setup 4's Soldier rig in the picture. I wanted to use that one b/c its a special 2 handed rig. My character will need to use a sword.

ACS4 looks good on average sized characters but my guys muscles are too big for the rig. As you can see his Biceps and triceps intersect the shoulder joint with no control.

Interested in helping me with this?

Hey DRfoley,
Send me your mesh. I will rig for you using T4D. The nice thing about it is you will not need the plugs once I rig the mesh for you.

Alright. See what you can do with it.
