On mine, if I chose the first entry "Contents" I get the help docs but the next entry "Web-Based Help" takes me to Newteks site.

yea, maybe I should clarify that the "web-based help" button takes me to that Lightwave 8 main page..

I get the help file from the "contents" button..

Somewhere it says that the Web-based Help isn't implemented yet. I presume it will be a new section of Newteks site that will contain suplemental stuff.

Just FYI, you can change the URL that the online help button takes you to something more useful... like

http://members.shaw.ca/lightwavetutorials/Main_Menu.htm

Just right click on the hub icon and go to properties. Past the desired url in the text box and click ok.
You can always reset it to the old web site by clicking the "help web site" to the left of the text box.

Web Help is set up to go to this address http://help.lightwave3d.com

But it is then being redirected to the Newtek site, probably using something like htaccess. My guess is, that once Web Help is up and running they'll probably stop the redirection.

This looks like the address for the Japanese version http://www.dstorm.co.jp/lw8/help/index.htm

According to ChucK:

For now, plans have changed, and we aren't going to be putting up a version of the help file on the web pages. We will have a new section of LW[8] tips and tutorials that Web-based help will point to, as I understand.
