View Full Version : LW8 : Can not locate the cmdLine-files.

I've just installed Lightwave 8 and am trying to find out if the installation is OK.

I think not because I can not locate e.g. the cmdLine-files.
I also have but 3 config-files, and all of that seems strange to me because I've read here and there that there should be several config-files and cmdLine-files.

I've searched the forums and newtek's FAQ, but can not find out if my installation is complete.

I do not yet have received my permanent licence key from Newtek. Could it have something to do with that?

I've attached an image of the "Program Files/Lightwave[8]/Programs"-folder : could anyone compare it with your folder to see if there's something missing?

Apart from that, modeler and layout seem to function properly.
I'll have to find out cause I'm new to Lightwave.

Thank you and kind regards,

Hi Dominiek,

You seem to have a PC and the cmd-line files are only necessary on a Macintosh because there isn't a way of giving arguments to a shortcut. Also, unless you've saved the configs for additional LW plug-ins you will only have three config files - lw8.cfg, lwext8.cfg and lwm8.cfg. If you make any changes to your Hub you will get a fourth - lwhub8.cfg
