View Full Version : DV audio not in sync

I have a large (about 8 hours) project to work on. I need to capture all of this footage & the cut down to 1-2 hours.
So not having a "spare" 600GB of space I transferred the video via Firewire to AVI files.
I've 8 clips, up to 1 hour each.

First clip I put on timeline plays with the audio about 1 second ahead of the video.

I did not do anything on the computer until the "wait" messages dissapeared.

Any thoughts?

I'll make an educated guess that you captured as Type-2 DV?

Sure did. Guess I should gack use type 1. :(

And please send a report on this to Newtek as well.

A number of us have had this problem with the Type-2 DV format, but Newtek has not been able to reproduce the problem in house, so there's no way they can fix it.

Personally, it's intermittent, and when I tried to reproduce it for them, I couldn't. :(

But I simply can't trust Type-2 capture because of this, and I really wish I could, since it's what ANY other DV app needs.

The good news is for use inside of VT[3], Type-1 will stay in sync for you. Oh, and do render out to Type-2 or use Type-2 captured in any other application, since those will be in sync.
