Here's a stylized version of a tin toy I have - I'm sick of looking at it so I'm calling it done ;)

Awesome. Has a nice style to it, kinda like an illustration. How did you light it?

If my memory is correct - monte carlo/3 bounce and 3 area lights.

I did a few tests to get that glossy "tin toy" metal look but decided that I wanted a more softer/subtle surface. One of those area lights is set to give that soft specular light on the front of the ship - and I think that's what sold me on the style.

Thanks for the comments ;)

This was fun to work on but man I'm glad it's done.

Great job!
How would it work as a toy?

Really nice piece Lunar Camel.

You should composite it in a scene...like your desk or bookshelf.

Thanks.

As soon as I get some "D" batteries I'll hook the real toy up and show you some pics. It's quite bizarre - the actual toy has wheels underneath it (which I left out) and working lights. Here's a boring pic in the meantime.
