View Full Version : Rendering by surfaces only?

So I'm doing a render right? And I only wish to render just one surface on an object with many. Is it possible to render only one seperate surface with an alpha channel? And what about rendering shadows on a transparent background. Does anyone have any good suggestions, or ideas of where to go for this kinda info (if it exists), i'm sure it must-after all, this is lightwave and so far i've never been limited yet?

Look on the advanced tab of the surface editor. This will allow you to tweak the alpha for different surfaces. For rendring surfaces separately I suggest making extensive use of special buffers and one of the buffer savers,
