Hello everybody.

Im a newbie at 3D with lightwave. I was wondering whether anyone could point me to a starting location. I dont mind doing it all by myself. I just need some easy tutorials to help me start up. I want to start by making a logo for my simple website. Please, if you have any suggestions, don't hesitate to tell me about them.

So some links... perhaps tutorials also because im a totally new to 3D except that I have been using Swish 3D to make images and flash files that about it. Thanks alot. By the way, nice community here. And Lightwave just Rocks the Stage!!! Thanks

Hello Pin, Welcome to the wonder full world of waving.

For tuts of all levels try Newtek’ site http://www.newtek.com/products/lightwave/tutorials/index.html

They even have a few specifically on logos
http://www.newtek.com/products/lightwave/tutorials/animation/video/index.html

And here
http://members.shaw.ca/lightwavetutorials/Main_Menu.htm

Check out
http://www.3dbuzz.com/
They have all types of 3d/2d VTM’s for download. (Lightwave ones coming soon apparently)

You could also try to get hold of 3D world mag
http://www.3dworldmag.com/

They always have a few Lightwave tutorials in each issue.

Hope this helps

i found it so hard to get any of the tutorials going. I guess i will need to get a book to start learning because this program is so tough.

any good book suggestions.

Flay.com has some good tutorials and resources as well.

The books I would suggest are Inside Lightwave 7 by.. uhm.. what's your name again Dan? Oh yeah, Dan Ablan who comes here once in awhile and reminds us why we buy his books :D
Also, I would recommend, Lightwave Applied by Dave Gerrard, Jen Hachigian and Joe Tracy. Jen's the resident cel-shading wiz.

If you go out of this thread and look at the post: "LightWave Courseware" right here under "General Discussion" you'll find a FREE intro tutorial by Dan Ablan his very ownsef' just a couple of clicks away. Is that cool or what?
