View Full Version : LW8 crash on textured view rotate

I had barely begun using LW8 when it began crashing. In either Modeler or Layout, when I have a window set to Textured and I rotate the view with the widget for more than a second or two, the program crashes to desktop. I can re-create it every time. I didnít have this problem with version 7.5b, nor am I having crash problems with any other 3D software.

I am running Windows XP Personal on a Dell Dimension 8200 (Pentium 4 2.4GHz, 1 GB RAM); the graphics card is a Dell OEM nVidia GeForce FX 5950 Ultra 256 MB. DirectX version is 9.0b, and installing the latest nVidia drivers ( did not remedy the problem

Any non-planar or >4 Vertices objects? I had the sort of the same problem, but mine was in textured wireframe...worked fine in texture mode. Trippling these solved it.

Try the 6.x drivers you can get them here:


Also, switching to 16 bit is helping with the LW8 blank windows bug, it may help your problem.

You're right Phil, it was mainly in Textured Wire mode where the crash happened, and tripling seems to prevent it.

I'll try the 6.x drivers and see if they help.
