What would be the best way to preproduce graphics with animated lower thirds for use in a live production? I'm sure it will use a DDR, but how would I go about doing this, and if during the live production, I needed to create another graphic, can it be done quickly and easily.

You can use Toaster Edit to make the animated lower third and load it on a DDR or playback directly from VT Edit. You can make all graphics elements from CG or Photoshop and load it on VT Edit.

Also you can use Aura or Mirage to play back the lower third on DSK channel . This way is very handy because you can make lot's of effects and modifications in almost real time. If you use 2 monitors you can put Toaster interface in one monitor and Aura/Mirage in the second one. On Mirage you can use FX Stack to arrange all effects (text, shadow, movement, particles, lights, etc) and change anything very quickly. I use Mirage even to get text form an external source (SMS, text from other computer, etc.)
