View Full Version : Grid shows in front of model

Hi Wavers.

I'm curious as to why my grid seems to be overlapping my model in the "Front" orthogonal viewport.
I've toggled it to the other vieweports but it only seems to happen in my front viewport and only in shaded or textured modes.
I've checked over my display options but see nothing out of the ordinary but I'm sure I must have inadvertently changed something somewhere.

It never happened in LW_7+

I'm using LW_8.

Any suggestions as to why this is happening?

Thanks for any and all help.

Tom

Because the view from the Front is the view from +Z, and the part of your object the protrudes down is completely in the -Z area. Orthoganal views will always put a grid along the 0 line of the axis you are facing. So it makes sense to me why it looks like that.

Ahh..okay.

I guess I never really noticed it before.

Prbably because I usually use wireframe for my orthoginal views.

I had recently done a tutorial that required me to change some viewports and shade settings.

But your explanation does make sense.

Thanks

Confirmed, I can duplicate this in [8] and 7.5c. I think it's always been that way, for the reason Psyhke said. I usually have orthagonal views in wireframe mode, so I've never noticed it and had to try it out.
