nice work for something done during breakfast. the only crit i have is the icing looks too dry.

yeah I agree about the icing, and I noticed that every single dounut looks the same, sprinkles in the same place etc...... but I sure couldn't do something that well during breakfast. Overall nice look though.

How do you get your renders to look so realistic???

Your work is AMAZING!

Thanks. The icing does look a little dry, but when they sit out long they get like that. I should have randomized things some, but i guess i rushed this one. I might add some stuff and do another render...maybe some spilled milk..
knuckles644: Practice, practice, practice....;)

Well I was going to say the edge of the chocolate looks the same on each one, but you just said you need to randomize things, so I'll just say maybe thicken up the chocolate a little bit (because I'm a pig, not because it doesn't look good the way it is!).

That tableclosth does it. Fantastic! Little bit of gold wire in some of the patches... nice texture, damn... how did you do that one? can you tell me how many maps you used in what channels? I'd love to have that tablecloth texture to learn from. I have always had great trouble with fabrics...

Thats funny you say that about the cloth texture, because all it is is an image map, and the same texture in the bump map. I get a lot of wallpaper type textures from wallpaper retail sites online. They usually have a bunch of hi res examples of their wallpapers and you have to do is crop them down so there seamless. Heres the texture i used for the cloth....its actually a wallpaper texture.

Very nice.
Randomize - even rotate each one if in a rush, and...
more sprinkles pleeeze!
(Don't they dip the donut in the sprinkles? Not sure)
Icing looks "dry"ish, but all in all... very tasteee!

Never mind if it is simple, it work extremely well!
Many thanks for the texture file, Ill be sure to test it out today myself, and I'll show you the results!
