Hi all :)

I was thinking about testing my character modeling (and animating) skills and making a short animation of an 80's television show. I've posted a poll with a few choices for you to vote on and also an 'other' option if you have a better idea, if you do please post it

ciau :)

The A Team rocked! Not only will you have cool characters to put in your animation, you will be able to come up with some wierd A Team invention.

haha yes i'm thinking real strongly about the A-Team, I can make the big mean van, the big mean B.A., Hannibal with his cigar, face, and murdoch with his ball cap... I think The A-Team would be the easiest to characterize...

I'll wait on a few more votes but there's a strong chance it will be the A-Team.

Well, I'm going to get the party started and suggest Differ'nt Strokes or maybe the spinoff, Silver Spoons.

"Whachu talkin' 'bout, Willis?"

It's gold, I tell you...

I reckon leave well alone, they were classics in their day, bringing 'em back would ruin them!

OK, Mr. man... with that attitude, you'd never have a Beverly Hillbillys movie, no Scooby Doo movie, no Starsky and Hutch movie... wait... oh. I get it. You're right. Wait! Scooby Doo 2! No... it's all crap. No no no ... I got one... Space Ghost. Now that was 100 times better the second time around.

cheers,

j

The rest I can leave but Starsky & Hutch was a great movie!

The 80's?
weren't those 10 years of celibration for the death of Disco in the 70's??

Didn't think anything else was memorable for those years:D

i kinda see the 80's as the place where the past, more simpler times ended and the world started to become more modernized.

Remember the 80's was just a time, and it didn't cause the death of the disco age. What did cause the death of the disco age was the people who lived in the 80's, so it is pretty much our fault. The 80's was a time of great TV shows and Paula Abdul :)

I will be starting a work-in-progress thread soon for my animation which has been decided to be The A-Team. In the meantime, who would be the best army guy to include? (Decker, Lynch, Fullbright... am I missing anyone?)

My favorite was Decker but the easiest to characterize would probably be Fullbright. Thanks for the replies guys :)

I love the A- team and so I voted for them.
But I too feel a little uncomfortable with remakes of classics.

I remade a classic...

bit embarrassed about the cg now, but it's entertaining -

I think you'll have the best shot at making a fun clip if it's a spoof, like Starsky & Hutch was

Though I didn't read all the reply's (so if it has already been suggested, ignore me!), but I think you should do a show about an 80's-hair-band-wannabe group. They could get in all sorts of situations while trying to get to the top. Hair would play a big part in everything.

You'd also get a chance to throw in some of that great guitar rock music from the 80's.

One of my favourite shows of all time: Quantum Leap.
Sam rules, and so do Al and Ziggy.

What about Automan? You could have a lot fun with Cursor.

transformers and GI Joe have been done... and they did make a Knight Rider 2000 series.

What about Mask?
Street Hawk (yet another enlightened vehicle show)

Auto Man - I barely remember that having not seen much of it. The car was outlined in neon right? Kinda like stuff in TRON.

Thunder Cats, HO!

Automan was terrible. You are not missing much not remembering it. :)

You're right, though, it was very Tron-like. Neon trim, 90 degree turns. What got me was this hologram character could physically interact with the real world yet travel through electical circuits.
