View Full Version : Distance to camera dependent SubPatch level?

I was wondering if anyone knew of a plugin to make it so your subPatch level was dependent on the distance to the camera. Iím not much of a programmer, And havenít been able to figure out how to do it myself. It would be really nice to speed up render times. So things in the distance were set lower, but when you get closer up the it would be smother when it needed to be, itís just an idea. Maybe I need to post it in the features request. :)Thanks

Under Propeties/Geometry/Add Custom Object you'll find 'Level of Detail Mesh Refinement' that does what you want. Haven't used it, so that's all I can tell you ~

It seems to work good for the previewing, but when I render I haven't figured out how to set it up so it doesn't crash, it's probably just figureing out the setup, thanks for the help
