On the bone twist demo the bone twist tool is used and then he "Commits to the Change" and Ta Da when you go back into the rotate bone "y" things are changed.

I'm on Windows XP what key is he pressing when he "Commits to the Change". The Windows help says to press the space bar but that changes the tool. When I go back to the Bone Twist it is still the way I left it, however when I go into object rotation mode the heading, bank and pitch is completly different than the way in looks in Bone Twist.

What am I doing wrong, am I using the wrong tool to rotate my Bones?

Bone twist works in local coordinates, so press shift-F7 and you'll see it does in fact work. However, LW uses parent coordinates to store everything in, so in actual fact the twist takes effect from the next bone down in the chain, so the best thing to do is select the bone above the one you want to modify and twist that instead.
