from the splutterfish brazil r/s features page:

"Bucketed rendering paradigm offers priority-based/ordered bucket rendering and selectable bucket-size for controllable use of available memory"

I want that in LW / fprime

thanks in advance :)

Do you know what it is or does it just sound good ;) :p

well... it sounds good and i am having a lot of memory problems when combining fprime and LW...

:)

Yeah, buckets are great for using less memory, however I've always wondered how it affects raytracing ... since buckets load only what is in the bucket, and ray tracing must have the entire scene in memory. Other renderers seem to have no trouble though, so it's interesting to me :p

Bucketing is only god when you use distributed rendering of a large image on multiple machines. I think bucketing causes more trouble than god in form of aliasingproblems/noise between the squares/buckets. My advice is buy more ram to frpime and render it in 1 piece;)
