Please, somebody tell me, does Newtek plan on implementing true edge weighting and also N-gon sub divisional surfaces in the near future? I know this has probably been asked hundreds of times, but maybe its because its needed. :)

Thanks

sub divisional surfaces (and meta balls etc) are now a plugin type from what I hear, so once the LW8 sdk comes out, if Newtek doesn't implement n-gon sub dividional surfaces then someone will.

If we had a counter for that, i really wonder where it'd be by now...hundreds is likely to be an underestimate IMHO :D
But yes, it would be very nice to have...

@Karmacop: SubD <=> Plugin? You mean one can implement its own SubD Algorithm?
Unfortunately i neither have recieved LW8 nor some info about the SDK :(

-edit-
of course i do have some plans if that is indeed true!

I have also not received LW8.

Inbetween there was Hash 2004 out and out of curiosity i ordered
this magnificent little software.

It does alot but is also alot instable.
Hash has for instance 5-sided pathes.

Yep, that's what I've heard. It's a polytype plugin. It's basically how they do metaballs, meta edges, sub divisional surfaces etc. The SDK hasn't been released yet though, so we'll have to see ...
