View Full Version : save transformed object

I was wondering if there was a way to save the mesh of a posed character to an object file. I know about the save transformed object, but when you use it, it triangulates your mesh. I was hoping there was a way to save the transformed mesh while retaining the original quads? Someone know of an Lscript that will do this, or any workarounds?

I want to bring the posed object into another package without having to re-rig it to get the same pose.

I tried pose saver (found on flay) but it won't seem to compile for me. I keep getting a parse error. Any suggestions are appreciated!

just realized that pose saver does not yet work on the mac. A new version supposedly is in the works to fix that. I'm still not sure if it will be the right fix for my problem though.

o.k., I've answered my own question. The solution was to bring in the model as a base polygon mesh (no sub-D) and then save as a transformed object; it did not triangulate my quads this way.
