HI! I've been working on a Matrix:Sentinel model im trying to get into a pc game. I'm pretty new to modeling. I've got the core model, all I want to do is animate the legs/arms whatever they are. I put a bone system in side one section to try it but the result is a very simply morph. I really want a smooth bend in the arms, but it crunches the model when i move a bone. I know im missing some critical step, but all the tutuorials I've seen are very vague. I would appreciate any help you can provide. Thanks~!! -Cosmas.

Use the Spline Animate tool. That's what it's for. Looks like you're using 7.5c so you should have it. Use it for tentacles, rope, etc.

How many segments do you have along the arm?

Best bone/rig tut I have seen.

I'm with Dodgy, I think that the tentacle might have too few segments. It looks like it only has one. For it to be able to deform smoothly and conform to the bonechain you need to add alot more segments. Bones displace points, if there are none, they have nothing to displace. Use the knife tool or Bandsaw/Cut(LW8).
