hi folks...

i have ati radeon 8500 gfx-card /win2000 and lw7.5

i some display /redraw problems in modeler and deselecting polyongs/points with the "lasso" causes a system-crash.
i have to add that i need to run the gfx under 16 bit.

any ideas or links to drivers? i have the latest drivers directly from the ati-page.

thanks in advance

I've just bought a 9700 Pro, I heard after I bought it though :( that LW modeller doesn't like the open GL antialiasing sometimes, try turning it off, here's a couple of threads on the old forum ....

I have a similar problem with LW 3D 7.5 Modeler.

Everytime I select polygones and rotate/zoom/move the viewport, polygones begin to dissapear around the selected ones... they reappear after I deselected all polygones. That's quite unnerving during all kinds of modelling processes.

System is: Radeon 8500, 1 GB Ram, Win Xp.
No other programs are running.
I switched OFF ANTIALIASING in OpenGL.
Installed the newest ATI Catalyst drivers.
Installed the Omega Drivers (normal version) for Radeon.
Installed the refresh rate fix for ATI cards.

Still to no avail... I honestly don't know what else I can do.

I appreachiate all help I can get.

Thanks in advance,
Beren

I know I'm not being helpful here, but I find that ATI cards do not typically like to play nice with Lightwave. Nvidia cards seem to have a much higher success rate (I havent had an Nvidia card behave badly in the school lab here, with Lightwave).

if the card is still returnable..?

No, it's been to long since I bought it, and there wasn't any gf fx at that time. Besides I think both cards have pros and cons.

I had problems with ATI card since the old rage chip. Still, after a while the drivers werse stable, and everything worked perfectly.

ALL games, programs etc. work without any problems. But strangely I only have these display issues within LW modeller...
I'd be like... halelujah... if there's a way to fix this problem :(
