View Full Version : What's the best way to animate a face?

I want to get into animating some of the stuff I've modeled but I seem to be in a bit of a catch 22 situation. As far as I know animating faces is usually done by morphing but here's the problem, my face is a high density mesh not a sub div model. The reason for this is because I wanted to create lots of fine details like scars and wrinkles, something that you can't do with sub divs, well not easily. But trying morph a face with so many polys is going to be impossible. Would I be better using bones or is there another way?
