Mostly instrumental stuff -- words are distracting. Sometimes the Groove Salad ambient techno winamp station, modern jazz, Bartok, movie soundtracks, classical/baroque, Frank Zappa, Michael Brecker, Miles Davis, and similar things...

I listen to nothing while I work. I find anything that takes away from my concentration inevitably slows me down.

i listen in winamp to Halfliferadio.com most fo the time, they talk about games most of the times

and i also listen to Teachno like DJ Tiesto on Digital imported via winamp radio.

somtimes i play my own mp3 techno mix that i create ^_^\

and i enjoy modeling while watching star trek DS9 or other Sci-Fi series.

only when i'm deeply focosed con rigging or animating i dont play music nor play a video.

i work a lil weird !! :D somtimes workers drop by my workstation to watch my Sci-fi!! my boss dont like it hehehe

I love early Megadeth (the next album is supposed to be a return to form, like Rust in Peace)

I listen to a LOT of death metal, grindcore and some thrash metal just to keep things interesting :D Some stoner rock also. (Kyuss, Queens of the Stone Age and more obscure stuff, like Black Sabbath slowed down and heavier haha) I get a lot of promotional cds for an underground metal webzine, and I used to do some radio too. Good fun, envigorating stuff ;)

97xonline.com, 99x.com, gotti13, yellowcard, something corporate, jimmy buffett, dave matthews, story of the year, new found glory depends on mood and all.

Groove Salad<< I listen to that a lot... other ambient stations..

Also, Pat Metheny*, Yes.. oh, you know. Prog rock.

Bill Nelson is also awesome.

I just found Aural Moon on iTunes.

Mainly, it's instrumental-only if I'm trying to learn something, and everything if I'm just producing or doing something for which I don't have to concentrate on tiny details, or long step-by-step processes I can't automate.

I should mention that my music doesn't necessarily change for my activity (modeling/texturing or Photoshop, Illustrator, or whatever) but rather by mood.

Sometimes if I find I'm having a particularly good creative session I like to repeat songs/albums.

*one of my all-time faves.

scary music with that many beats per second is called gabba or something isn't it? Please put me right.

This week I have been mostly listening to

Damian Rise
Bob Dlyan
Ryan Adam (not bryan no no no)
& the jolly good fun lemonheads

All Storytelling song stuff really.

Any people outside Britain I highly recomend Damian Rise as I dont think he is that well known any where else. His sound has a folky moderness to it, lots of back to the basics acoustics & brillant song writing me thinks, does any one else like him?

Tull ... if I get a chance ... else I am being swamped by my daughter's Teena Marie or Alicia Keys ...

But most of the time the fans in my system sound like a MD-80 jet engine drone.

Truth is never sweet

At home I often have in Lord Of The Rings (1-2), Oh Brother Where Art Though, Pinero, Donnie Darko, Batman (1-2, cartoons)... movies with good soundtracks that I've seen many times.
At work, RadioParadise.com... it's got a good mix of stuff. Johnny Cash, Nick Cave, Paul Simon, Lou Reed...
