View Full Version : UV map off the grid

Trying to create a fairly simple UV map for this character. It's an exhaust on a jetpack. I'm wanting to give the end of the exhaust a burned/blackened look, with some streaking, etc. When I create the UV, part of the map is falling off of the U V grid. I'm unable to move the part hanging off the grid back onto the grid. When I map, it leaves a big gap. Any idea how to fix or why this is happening?
*Of course, it may just be better to create a gradient for this look, any suggestions on how to tackle it this way, I'm very open to suggestions on this. I'm inexperienced with gradients.

Why are you not able to move it?

if you mean it *won't* move, then try unwelding the points then move it. You'll probably want to scale it a little too, cos it aint gonna fit as it stands.

BTW. If you are going to be doing lots of UV mapping Use the Texture Guide & open up its numeric panel. You can move, rotate & scale the uvs using that or the interactive gizmo that pops up without unwelding.
