I didn't see a mention of it, so I thought I'd ask.
Does VT3 have RT DV out?

How about if the source is live DV in ?
Does it have corresponding live DV out?

Yes. From the feature list.

•Native DV playback using propriety codec
•DV is recorded directly, without decompression/recompression
•Record analog sources to compressed DV in real-time

I don't know for sure on the Live DV In with live DV Out.

Good question though because you would want to know this in order to do a live DV cameras switch and record back to a DV deck.

Based on the press releases, no real-time out via firewire. You still need to render if you want to do that.

But realize that if you are switching your sources, you are decompressing them anyway, so sending them out via analog and letting your deck compress them wouldn't hurt you anymore in quality anyway.

So you can keep it real-time that way.

Hey George, I see you beat me to the punch line.

Very good question that many of us DV users would like confirmation on.
Reading the features list as well implies that the T3 does have RT native DV playback from TED.

Scorpio, do you have a link or can you past copy of the press release you came across?

I don't remember which press release it was, but I think they are all the same, it's just how one interprets it, as you said:

That doesn't say to me "real-time out firewire", it says to me that "T[3] has real-time native DV playback from TEd". This implies to me just through the analog or SDI out, as T[2] does, except for an "improved" codec.

Believe me, I wish it could do that, but I just don't think that feature is in there.

Though seriously, for live switching, there wouldn't be a real quality advantage.
