Is this possible? When I've tried to open projects from 4909 in 4744 I get "invalid file type". I didn't know if there was another way to make this work.

suggestions?

More info: If the project is only opened under 4909, it will still work in 4744. However, if any change is made and saved in 4909, 4744 no longer recognizes the file. I've also tried saving under the various formats (vt3.project, toasteredit.project, avi project, etc) and it still no luck.

As far as I know projects are not backward compatable, meaning you can oen up a project that was made in a previous project in 4909, but not the other way around. Why are you trying to do this? Why not upgrade to the latest version?

4909 has trouble dealing with Pic Video clips. Most of my clips are Pic Video, and I need to work in 4744 to prevent problems until the fix is released.

I have used Pic Video clips without any problems and am unaware of any posts reguarding 4909 having problems with Pic Video clips. What problems are you having?

Frequent crashes while opening projects with a large number of pic video clips. The crash occurs in one of three ways. The first way is "VT3 has generated errors and will be closed by windows".
The second is "winrtme service unexpectedly quit". And the third, the VT just disappears. While the project is opening "pop" and you're back on the desktop. No error messages, nothing in the event viewer, the program exits abnormally in the blink of an eye.
I spoke with Andrew at NAB, the problem is easy to reproduce and hopefully we'll have a solution soon. All this started after going to 4909, and can be corrected by going back to 4744. Thus the reason to be able to open 4909 projects in 4744.
