View Full Version : surface baking - multiple objects and surfaces

Could anybody let me know if there is a process used to 'bake' multiple objects and surfaces in one hit rather than having to surface bake each object and surface individually? Any help would be appreciated

If I'm not misunderstanding...
just add the Surface Baker to all surfaces you want bake...
then render!

My model is of a hospital development, it would take days if not weeks to bake each individual surface

This might help...this is how i have done it...it actually very easy

1.place all objects in the scene in one layer and triple all polygons

2.create a new texture map choose altas

3.in layout in one (one!) of your surfaces add the suface baking shader...choose bake to image...select your uv map.

4 render your scene...your baked surface map will also be created.

5.apply this new map to you atlas uv. you might have press q to create a new surface for you entire scene

6.remember to remove your surface baker shader before you render again..you dont need it now.

7.blame me if i have forgotten something

its very cool especially because you dont have to apply it to every surface...that would be a bit tedious.
