hi

i'm just wondering what are the lightwave 8 demo capabilities...ie if you remove your dongle or your dongle dies for instance does lightwave 8 have the same or improved capabilities as currently lightwave 7.5 has:

modeler: point limit of 400 points
layout: no save capability in layout and "square's watermark on renders"

is this the same for lightwave 8...?
do you now have some limited save capability in layout?
is there a different watermark?

for those who have 8 can you spare 5 mins and take a look?

....DOES lightwave 8 have a demo mode????????

cheers

hi anyone who actually has lw8 up n runnig can you pull the dongle out and see if lw8 will run?

i'm in the middle of teaching a intro course for lw and would like to show some lw8 before the end of the course if possible...but it will mean running the demo mode at college.

cheers

To put you out of your misery Steve - although you'll soon be able to check for yourself... :) - yes, if you don't have the dongle at startup you can run LightWave in Discovery mode.

Sorry I couldn't tell you the same thing in Italian as I told Stefan. If you were Japanese it would have been okay-ish, but these are exciting times, it's true. Hell, I've been playing with 8 for a while now, but I'm more excited than ever! :)

Hope I see some of you in Copenhagen!

Does anyone know if they will release the demo version of 8 for download like with 7? That way all of us that are still waiting can have some to play with, instead of whining on these forums.

Ohh no ....I'm far too mature to get excited about these things. (does silly little dance around the room) Ahem.. no-one saw that did they? ;) ;)

Wish I could go to the Fesitval but seeing as the garage roof has just collapsed - let us say - things are restricted. :p

Ahh - maybe one day they'll hold a LW seminar in NW UK - like Manchester or Warrington. Well, a guys gotta have a dream don't he? ;)

I inquired about this 3 or 4 weeks ago and Irene wrote back saying:

NewTek is working on plans for a demonstration CD based on LightWave Eight.

I asked if it would be available when 8 shipped, or afterwards and she replied:

It will follow afterwards.

It would be great if it was available as a download though!
