View Full Version : My First Short Movie

Hello all, after reading Tim Albees' book "CGI Filmmaking" I was inspired to attempt my own short film. The movie is called "American Range" and is about a hick farmer, his pig and their adventures in a pickup truck and some roadside kitchen appliances.

This project highlighted a number of areas in which I need to work on such as character animation, lighting, modeling, and patience. I gave myself 5 weeks from start to finish, so many scenes have noticable mistakes, and some ackward cuts in order to "bandaid" other errors. Anyways, I hope you guys enjoy it regardless of these things. Please feel free to comment, ask questions, etc.

It's a 40meg QT File (and i hope i link it correctly), and is 4min in length.

After an eternity of downloading it - I enjoyed watching it!

I don't really know what it was for, and was confused a little at the story - if there was one - but it was a fun 4 minutes!

What was it for?

The movie was mostly for kicks and giggles, but I'm also submitting it to a film contest called the "Film Kitchen" in Pittsburgh. Film Kitchen (http://www.filmkitchen.org/)

OK, it might not have been a photoreal sophisticated extravaganza, but it sure was original and entertaining and had plenty of nice touches. Good work, probably the most original idea I've seen in a long time.

Thanks for posting it.
