The Darktree Simbiont shaders are free and very good. You can download them at Simbiont Shaders (http://www.darksim.com/html/simbiontlw.html)

The problem with Darktree is the shaders are not for commercial use or I should say to be sold with an object you created. For example if you created a tree to port over to poser to sell as a poser prop you can not use Darktree's textures on that tree.
However their shaders are OK for renderings. So make sure you read the license agreement before using shaders from any outside source.

Actually those shaders aren't free (IFW Textures) but they are a really good value for the money.

Perhaps I should clarify a little more. Darktree makes a program for making your own shaders. This program creates shaders based on procedural textures. Anything you create your self is commercial free. The shaders that others create with that program normally are not commercial free. Especially from Darktree themself.
I almost forgot about their program. Sorry.
EDIT: I just checked their web site and Darktree is the name of their software not the name of the company. Simbiont is the plug in for Lightwave to use those shaders. The name of the company is Darkling Simulations. Their web site address is www.darksim.com (http://www.darksim.com)
