actually the only really good lcd monitors I have
found are the apple line. formac makes some
really nice ones but I don't own one so can't say
for sure. I have a apple 20" lcd. Its bright, color
correct and works nicely with the 19" sony I have
sitting next to it. The sony is a little washed out
as it cant compare with the lcd contrast. These
monitors work on all pc's with a adapter as I have
it hooked up to my mac and pc. I use a kvm
switch. The price is about 1300.00 so a little
out of what you wanted to spend but it is a 20"
wide aspect ratio.

I used a 20" Formac for a while, at my work.
Worked great, excellent resolution too.
Very easy to work with, less glare and eyestrain, that you seem to get with a CRT.

You might want to hold on a little while, I'm with an Apple reseller and they've been hinting at a price drop in their monitors the next quarter.

well if the prices were going to drop soon it would
have been at NAB. They have not so its a rumor
that has been going since I boughy my 20" about
august of last year along with a 30" rumor. The
drop in price will only be maybe 150.00 at the
most so dont expect it to be sliced to the bone.
You should buy what you need and want for the
time you need it. who knows when it will be
released. The power macs should have been
updated by now they are every year but not this
year so I would say its anyones guess when they
intro new products or cut prices.
