Is there a guide anywhere on moving lightwave onto a new PC?

I reinstalled everything, downloaded and applied all the updates from the 7.0 base, dongle is on etc.

Can I transfer the registration from the old machine?

And is there a simple way of amanging content migration, or is it just a case of manually copying over directories?

All clues gratefully received!

Cheers,
Nick

just copy the LW folder on the new machine,
LW doesn't put anything in the windows folder.

but you do need to install the dongle drivers, that's the only thing.

if you use the same dongle on your new machine, the licence.key in your LW program folder should still be correct.

Actually there is one more item(s) you may need to copy over (if you've made changes/used plugins, etc.)

the LW .cfg files - if you're on win2k these should be in "C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator" (or whatever user you are signed in under) - I have 7 on my machine, but I have seen as few as 3. Some plugins generate these (there is one there called UVEdit.cfg for example). I believe these also store any changes you've made to the menus or hot-keys.

good luck!
