What is the easiest program for a novice to use. I want to take DVcam footage and using the VT3...capture directly to mpeg 1 or 2 so we can make DVD-Rs or CD-Rs.
As below post states, I do have Ulead but it is a trial version and not tech supported. What do you suggest I buy????thanks

For a compressor to get your files into the mpeg2 format. The above program comes with a version of this (tmpgenc) so perhaps just the one purchase will do it.

I'm a big fan of Ulead DVD Workshop.. It's very powerful and easy to use. I've never need their tech support and I've had great results.

AS usual, first class, highly intelligent people on this forum. I appreciate your expert opinions. Ken

I have said this on other forums, but we have Ulead and Adobe Encore.

I like Encore and my biz partner uses Ulead.

Both apps can co-exist on the same machine and play well together.

So, my post cancels itself out, but hey, it's the way it is at our studio.

I'll second the vote for DVD-Lab. You can purchase DVD-Lab bundled witn TMPGEnc. It's a great "bang for the buck" package.

Or maybe it's just for those named "Robert Wilson" :) .
