View Full Version : Spline Knife Editing Tool

I was playing around in Blender tonight and it occurred to me that there is no "loose knife" tool for making new edges inside of existing non-adjacent polygons.

You can see a sample of how Blender does this here:


And the hack workaround in LW:


It would be nice if we could use a tool similar to the "magic bevel" tool to make valid quads inside of existing polygons, without having to resort to multistage procedures ( aka boolean )

Looks very usefull!

I personally haven't seen anything that
works in just this way.

Ya it would be Very nice if the knife tool could work in the perspective viewport and be drawn like that.

I had the same request before, that's a nice way to present it, I'd just add that it needs to have an option on the numeric panel for:

create new points (determined by a smoothing angle)
create no new points
