View Full Version : Bend and Twist Arrow Object

I'm a newbie that only uses Lightwave to make 3d looking Icons, and maybe someday, to create really great animations. I'm an application developer so that's where I spend most of my time.

What's the best way to make a simple Arrow shape that wraps around an invisible sphere object? Basically I just want an arrow to point around an object like it does in the Images I've attached. I've only been working with Lightwave for about 3 days.

Maybe there's already a tutorial out there that talks about Twisting objects.

oh, and by the way, the Icons posted above are directly off of http://www.foood.net/. I'm just wanting to use these techniques in a different way.

Have you looked in modeler under modifier>twist or modifier>bend tools...

you'll need enough poly's in the object to create a smooth bend.

Thanks! That's exactly what I was looking for! I'm really a newb... so I didn't realize that I had to make more than 3 Polys to make it look good. Yes... I had tried the "Twist" tool, it just didn't seem to be twisting the image the way I had wanted.

Thanks again for the help.
