Hy, im ok at modeling but my texturing lets it down. I can only make the textures look ok around one axis. how do u get them to perfectly fit around an object? and how do you make your textures? :p

UV map everything.... !! Make textures? - Photoshop.

yeah, I'm in the same boat. UV isn't easy to do...at least with Inspire!

I used to really hate UV mapping, but I've grown quite fond of it lately. (The trick is to apply the mapping as you go, as opposed to waiting until the end...) If you use it like you'd use projection mapping, establishing the co-ordinates isn't so bad. Create a box that's bigger than your whole object. Then select all 6 faces of it while selecting all the polygons of a particular Axis you're on, and assign the UV map. Once you get into the groove of doing it, it goes by pretty quickly.
