read all the docs and excellent posts on related PFX stuff but still need help.

I used an object-line emitter to create a cannon that shoots a single stream of particles. So far very excellent results.

I can set a realistic mussel velocity and adjust to make it a convincing ballistics simulator.

ONLY problem is that the birth rate is hard to set at a steady interval. For instance, if I set 1 particle per sec, it's only an average, and the intervals are not even.
The only even interval possible is 1 particle per frame(30 particles per second), then you get an even stream with no gaps. ( Great for flame thrower or water hose BTW)

ANY other birth rate is an uneven and random averaged rate with too many or not enough particles per second, not precise.
(e.g. 3 per sec actually gives you randon 1-5/sec, or a 6 per sec setting might give you random 2-8 per sec)

I tried to envelope the exact interval, and key frame but no luck.
Also set the the "resolution" to 1" and no change.

Anyone have the authors contact to get actual docs on PFX? LW manual is no help.

When you tried creating an envelope, did you have "Generate by" set to "Frame"? That together with a properly keyed envelope should've been enough.

Saw this one already?: http://vbulletin.newtek.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=9245

Worked PERFECT ! Thank you very much. I'll search better next time.

I've been off the forum for a while, but will try to contribute help if possible.

Thank you again!
