So what I'm asking is lightwave a good program to use for this kind of thing? can I make a full chartoon about 10 15 mins long in 3d animation maybe? I just thought i would ask befor I go hopping in to this program. I'm open to all ideas thanks...

This guy made a whole movie by himself using LW.

so I'm sure you wont have any problems trying to make a animated short.

with the lastest version of lightwave being released very shortly, there is also a large amount of tools that have been added especially for character animation.

Wow, that’s what I want to do man! I better get busy on stuff If I want to start making some movies! Man I got so many ideas I just can't wait to have fun!

I guess I'll look for online tutorials to help me get started? Or do you have any good ideas where a newbie should start? I’m sure by next year I will be able to come up with something. :D I think if i can learn how to read and write and do gif aniamtion i can do this :-)

Hey thanks for the Info man, I been looking and reading up on stuff and I allready did one tutorial so far :)

That one was hard but I did it :D

If I can master this program and use it for my needs Ill buy lightwave 8 :) i wanted to learn 3d studio but can't afrode it but, lightwave can do what 3d studi max does right?

Anyhow, I wanted to see if anyone can help me out with this one

I can't get past setp 1

In this tutorial, we will show how powerful the combo Aura [2] + LightWave® [6] is to create natural motions in LightWave®.

Step 1, Aura side :

At first, we will record a nice drawing with the Stroke Recorder. For that, I recommend to use a graphic tablet (Wacom Intuos tablets works great with Aura).

I been trying ti figuar this out for like the last 3 hours hehe ;) do i need to download some stuff or am I just missing somthing?

I think I found something I can do. I also think I found the answer to my question. So how this hole 3d thing works you have to model an image and then animate it. So for someone like my self it would be better learning how to model first then animate?

So if I make a model is it eazy to use that model for any thing I may need like run, jump, swim, laugh and cry?

this tutorial is where I was thinking of starting so befor i go jumping off in to it I just wanted to ask and see if anyone has any better tutoirals or if this one is for newbie like my self... ;)

man, I thought Paint shop pro 8 was hard ;) but like i said befor If i can learn reading, spelling, magic, pc trubleshooting, I can learn this.... ;)

Nope I'm here to learn how to use this program.

Too anyone out there who wants to use this program but has no idea where to start. Start here on this tutorial.. this is what I was looking for.

This is a grate place to learn the basic keybord commands and how stuff works. The best thing to do is to read it and do it 3 or 4 times over.

So far I have been stuck right here on this part..... As soon as i get to this part it cuts the bowl in to rings....

The rings are in the shape of the bowl you can tell its a bowl but its all made out of rings stacked on top of each other.

So I hit tab again and it puts it back to the way i had it befor i hit tab hehe.... they said to hit "w" for the polygons and to hit Shift+T to fix it... but that just made more yellow lines around it but still had the ring shape bowl....

Lightwave can turn objects into Subpatches, which will smooth the polygons out. Then when the sides of the object are smooth, we freeze the Subpatches and the object gets a new smooth shape permanently. Make sure everything is unselected in Modeler, and then hit “Tab” on your keyboard to turn the object into a Subpatch. Notice how smooth the bowl turned out? It should look something like picture 22 at this moment.

So maybe anyone out there can help me out would be grate I'm all for people learning new things for them self’s that can be useful for them in the future ;)

I'm open if anyone has any other basic beinnger tutorials they can link people to I'm all for it :D

edit: you can learn all the newbie stuff with the demo mode right??? lol don't want to wast all this time for nothing hehe.
