View Full Version : endomorph UVmap

I created several endomorphs which I deformed to create planer Z axes UVMaps.
I cut and pasted each endomorph part before moving.
I unwelded the points before moving in the UV perspective.

Before finally editing my UVmap I decided to test it to make sure there where no errors.

I deleted all the endomorphs and then merged all the points.

The UV looks fine.

The problem is if I then freeze the model, points appear in the UVmap.

Can I correct this or have I made a mistake somwhere.

Unless of course you have freeze a model before creating maps?

Howdy. Not exactly sure what is going on with your model - but you could try selecting the "delete single point polygons" option (or whatever it's actually called) when you merge points.

If that doesn't work, you could always bring up the polygon statistics (w) window and select and delete the single point polygons from there.

Or you could highlight the points in the UV map and delete them (see what this does...)

Or you could simply not freeze the object.

Personally, the idea of freezing an object is not one I like to think about. All that geometry... I pity the poor fools who had to work without NURBs.

If you are freezing the object to have more detail to work with in PShop when making bump maps, etc - freeze the object, export the .eps and then undo the freeze. As long as the outline of the UV map doesn't change, no probs there.

Hope something here is of some use.

Thanks for the tips David,

but any kind of cuting or deleting of these points results in this....

Try this:
Select and merge each section individually before making the uvmap on the endomorph.
