I think (could be wrong??) you can just download the normal version and it runs in demo mode without the Hardware Lock

Hi riki, I'm not sure, however I think this is an update and not the program itself. I could be wrong. Please let me know.
Thank you,

Have you tried?

If I'm not mistaken you can download the original update 7.5 and then do the updates. I think this should give you everything then.

Look here

BTW: Be sure to download the help file for 7.5c. It's HUGE (88megs) but full of good info. You may want to look at the User Tips at the bottom of the contents. There's good info there.

Hi gjjackson,
Thank you for your reply. I am trying to find out if you can download the program itself to try out, not an upgrade.
Thanks again, have a great day,

I should've explained that by downloading as such with the 7.5c upgrade it will give you the Discovery Edition. This would be akin to the LWDE edition that used to be on Newtek's site. I think the DE will give more functionality than the demo mode. In the past Newtek said they were going to put up a Discovery Edition on their site once the new v8 is out. I suspect that it will have more of the full functionality of the commercial version. Hopefully it will be more like MayaPLE and XSI's demo along with others. They should also inlcude it on 3DWorld's CD's as many others have done. This would be good PR for Newtek. The demo I tried out was so limited I didn't even mess with it. I just went ahead and bought the full version. They do have student versions and I considered that but you aren't allowed to use it for making any profit.
