One quick question. If I build a skelegon in a seperate layer than the object I want it to deform and then flatten the layers would that have the same effect as if I had origionally built the skelegon in the same layer? Thanks

You can make the skelegons in the same layer as your mesh, but it can be difficult to select and modify the bones with all that geometry in the way.

I usually make the skelegons in a new layer with the mesh in the background layer so I can see how it lines up. Then, cut and paste the skelegons into the mesh layer and save.
