Wow!
Yes, everyone email newtek and please ask them to work with Worley!

If they work together, we could have the LW we all dreamed of.
Imagine HVs and Volumetric lights rendering in, not double, not triple, but 100's of times faster! :p

Imagine all other shaders, pixel filters, etc rendering in near realtime!

The future looks VERY bright for LW!
Did I just say that?!
We the USERS just need to tell NT enough times!

Email them NOW! - [email protected] and [email protected]

THANKS!

Well I'm not sure clogging their in box is the way to go, I'm sure they've seen the excitement on the forums and I imagine if Worley gives them an idea of the number of users who've signed up by the end of the week, (bearing in mind he hasn't even released it yet!) they should get an idea that we want it sorting :)

Opening up SDk's or working with plug makers to improve SDk's is very important. The 3rd party market is what makes others take notice , they also every now and then come p with a ground breaking feature that Lightwave could benefit from.

Also important for a better integration into the "Big studios" pipelines! ;)

Worley has already said that Newtek will be working with him to improve the SDK once LW8 is released. A little more research on your part would have discovered this.

From Worleys site:
"Newtek has been thrilled by FPrime as it has developed. Their developers are currently busy finishing LightWave 8 for its release. After LW 8 ships, they intend to work with us to extend the LightWave SDK to help FPrime and other third party tools. Currently there is no FPrime feature or quality difference between LightWave 7 and 8."

Take your flaming torches home and forget the hassle campaign. It's not needed.

I checked my pockets. I have no torch. Why is it so dark?

It's pretty demoralising for developers to get the same requests time and time again, particularly when it's publicly stated that the matter will be addressed.

If you want to know why feature X/Y/Z hasn't been fixed or added already, I'm sure that the answer will be along the lines of 'limited development effort and limited time'.

I've no doubt that F-Prime has pushed SDK revision to the top of newteks priority tree, if only to accommodate F-prime.
