View Full Version : To upgrade or not to upgrade ...

... that is the question. Whether it is better to continue with 7.5c or not. I've looked at the list of 'features' and so far ... ???

If it's true that Rounder is going to be rolled into v8 - that's a plus but $500 worth?

It all depends on what you need, for me I would pay the $500 for the new soft and hard body dynamics alone. I've always been trying to mess with the dynamics in 7.5 and earlier and it will drive one mad.

It also looks like bone and IK are a huge thing, but I don't use them...

I'm not doing any animations and dont plan on any either. But I eventually will want to do organics.

I for one will not be upgrading, after spending some time
with 6.0 I found features and tutorials for particles, and
Motion Designer, that I must master first.
I wish I could overcome the learing curve as fast as some of
you do.
My thought is if you have fully mastered 7.5 to the point
you know the weaknesses and do not have a "go around"
then you should upgrade chances are 8.0 will have great
character animation tools (anyway that is what I read ).

The artist not the tools creates the beauty, or something
like that.
