Hi my name is Michael. I live in NJ. I use my computer many hours each day. The reason being I am in a wheelchair and its best for me to do things at home. I also run a few stores on the web along with my family. I am thinking of purchasing LightWave 3D, however I would like to learn more about it first. If anyone would like to give me some information I would deeply appreciate it.

Hi & welcome. You can learn an awful lot just by reading this forum - although we do get a little hot under the collar about completely trivial stuff sometimes, dont let it put you off.

For general info, you might want to start at the main LW pages on this site -

there are tutorials, gallery, feature descriptions brochure etc.

You may can also download a (large) manual to read.

it's big, but it may give you a better idea of the app.

You might want to do a search of our Authorized Reseller database (http://www.newtek.com/dealers/us.html). Many of our dealers perform demos of our products, so you can see LightWave in action.

You might also want to find out if there is a LightWave User Group in your area. Such groups are a good place to learn more about the program and discuss it with other users. Your local authorized reseller might know of one. Also, check with your local community college. Many of them teach LightWave and know if there is a user group in the area.

There are also some more tutorials and some downloadable videos to acquaint you with the program here (http://www.newtek.com/products/lightwave/tutorials/index.html).
