I've got a 3.2 ht p4 with a gig of ram and a 9800 pro running on a 800 fsb.

is there any option in lightwave that wil let me take advantage of the hyperthreading ? i mean it works very well, dont get me wrong, but i rendered a 2 second 60 frame spin of an object with sasquatches guide chains and it took an hour a a half....

if you have a look at hardware sites you will notice that HT slows down LW about 5 to 10 %

Actually the opposite is true - you just have to remember to use more threads i.e. if you have a single CPU with H.T. and leave your threads at 1 then your PC isn't going to render using 100% CPU usage. My dual works best using H.T. and 8 threads - with H.T. off it's 5-10% slower.
