View Full Version : How is ReaViz Stitcher?

Has anyone who took advantage of the RealViz/LW8 bundle received their RealViz software yet?

I'm curious to know how Stitcher is. Is it running OK? What OS are you using?

Please state whether you're using Jaguar or Panther OS (or something else) and what machine you have (G4, G5?).

Just installed it last night at about 2.30am. Looks fine so far, I need to do some tuts so I know what's going on. It comes with some example pix for you to learn with. I haven't had a good go at it yet.

BTW it seems to fire up okay without my LW Hardware Lock Key in, for people who where asking that question earlier.

I'm on 10.1.5 G4, it would be nice to know if any OSX.3 users have it working yet.

Thanks for your reply, Riki. I'd also like to know how it goes with 10.3.

I have used the PC version of stitcher and it is by far the best panoramic creator on the market. simple workflow, and its computation does all the work for you. top notch.
I kinda wish we would have waited to get the latest version of realviz's products in a bundle instead iof DFX :p as we are still primarily using AE.

I tried Stitcher and it seemed like your photographs had to be FREAKIN' PERFECT or it would refuse to work - knowledge of how to take photographs to Stitcher's liking is what you have to learn

Runs fine on OS 10.2.3 - G4 450 dual

Question. Can't you make panoramas just using Photoshop Elements/ Pro version?

Can't you make panoramas just using Photoshop Elements/ Pro version?

Yes you can, but you will need plug-ins, the only one I can remember is called PANO tools and I think it's now discontinued. If you are really serious about creating panoramic VR's etc your better using an app that's built for it.

Apple still sells it's VR software "QuickTime VR Authoring Studio" which was released in 1997, amazing!

and is still does the job, even though you have to use classic.

So what;'s the verdict does it at least boot in panther?

Have not bought the upgrade deal as I already have stitcher / IM / SW.

I bought them to complement my LW work flow and thatís exactly what they do.

All RealViz products I have found to be extremely intuitive and user friendly. Infact you would think its a mac only product by its thoughtfulness.

But does it work on OS10.3 ?

I only know it works well in Jaguar

That's good, hopefully a good sign. I guess we can always but the Stitcher upgrade, if it doesn't.
