Simple:
hoping NT will promote the new LW[8] SDK to every high-quality 3rd party plugin developer.

Many times we've heard some 3rd party developer interested in developing for LW but stopped by the SDK limitations (expecially everyone not already LW-related). :(

Come on NT contact them and let them know about the new SDK features!

Just a simple advice. ;)

The amount of times I've read articles on big studios that read "We like x product as we can go in and add our own code to it to intigrate it better to our custom pipe line."
Opening the SDK as much as possible is a very good idea :)

I wonder Mr Worley is using "standard" SDK for building FPrime, atlhough I have read a post that someone said Mr Worley is using the "standard" LW SDK.

Yep, I'm looking forward to the new SDK as well. I hope it is much more open than the current one... and more concise for that matter.
I think FPrime uses the standard SDK, but it also involves tons of grunt work and development. Basically it seems that FPrime is a balzingly fast raytracer that just happens to sit on LW.
