I am working on a detailed face and I am running into a problem when I have sub-patches turned on.

First the error message appears "Only Faces with three or four vertices can be converted to SubPatches"

Also an example of what it look like.

Question: How can I fix this?

Thanks for the help.

Basically, you have to convert any surfaces with more than 4 sides to triangles for the SubPatching to work.

With your object loaded in Modeler, click the polygon button. Make sure you don't have any polygons currently selected.

Hit 'w' to bring up the Polygon Statistics window.

Click the '+' symbol next to '>4 Vertices', then close the window.

You should notice that several polygons have been selected.

Press 'Shift-T' to triple the polygons.

Now you should be able to turn it into a SubPatch.

I followed your instructions IgnusFast but I don't have any ">4 Vertices".

I do have some one vertices and over 100 2 vertices.

I need to get rid of these since the message states that only 3 or 4 can work.

I will play w/ it and see what I come up w/.

Thanks for the help.

No problem-- most of us have fought the same battles. :)
